Dorothy Gwynn IT Coordinator for Starland County
I started to think about [Stress-free IT] a bit more and came to the realization that your company does help make IT very stress-free. Knowing that you are there to help us when things do not work and helping us to keep up with new Technology that we would never even know about, is very comforting. I would say that our system runs great 95% of the time. The other 5% when things go wrong is not as stressful as it could be, because I know that your support team has my back.
Here's how we did it
Starland County, located northeast of Calgary, wanted to implement a new GIS and tracking system for County-owned vehicles. They had software which was customized for them, but it was impractical to host the system on internal servers. TRINUS has been the County’s IT provider since 2006 and suggested a hosted environment located on the TRINUS secure Cloud infrastructure.
Working with the software developer and the County...
TRINUS created a secure Windows-based virtual server to host the custom application. The environment allows the software developer secure access to perform system checks and periodic updates. At the same time, the custom in-vehicle trackers communicate with a secure server, to provide real-time location data to the County’s management staff.
TRINUS has maintained operation of the Cloud GIS system for the County since 2011, many years before Cloud Computing gained popularity as an industry-standard platform for remote computing service.
Knowing that you are there to help us when things do not work and helping us to keep up with new Technology that we would never even know about, is very comforting.
