Analyst's Notebook Level 1
This hands-on 5-day workshop focuses on the fundamental concepts and features
necessary for creating and analyzing Association and Timeline Charts. Through
scenario-driven exercises, the students learn to create charts manually
and by importing external structured data. Students learn to switch a chart
from association to temporal and vice versa. Merging and combining charts,
using attributes and setting up charts for presentation are also covered.
Students are introduced to some of the tools available to find and query
data within charts using basic functional tools in Analyst’s Notebook.
The week culminates in a student project that incorporates all the elements
learned during the week.

Analyst's Notebook Level 2
This intermediate hands-on 4-day workshop builds upon the scenario, functions
and concepts learned in the Analyst’s Notebook Workshop - Level 1.
The emphasis is on analysis and customization, less on manual charting.
Students learn to customize and create icons, attributes, templates, palettes
and chart properties that complement their investigations. Students build
their importing and analytical skills while learning techniques for manipulating
charts created with mass data. Emphasis is placed on the new semantics features
and learning the analysis tools, and how they can be used to examine chart
focus and to find commonalities within and between charts. Students learn
more about attributes and are introduced to analysis attributes and how
they can be used for analysis. The week culminates with a student project
that reiterates what they learned during the week and provides for additional
chart presentation techniques and report generation.

Important Course Pre-Requsite Notice
The i2 Analyst's Notebook® training includes Level I and Level II certification. In essence, this is "part one and two" of the full 9 day Analyst's Notebook Certification Course. For scheduling convenience sake, the courses are not held back to back. Those who choose not to take Level II will miss out on many of the advanced intelligence analysis features of the software.
Each level is approximately one week of instruction. Level I is designed for those who have never received any previous Analyst's Notebook training, and for those who have been using the software in a limited fashion. Level I is a beginner to intermediate course.
Level II is an advanced course. Even experienced i2 users who have received no formal i2 training are encouraged to attend and complete the Level I before moving onto the Level II.This course is necessary for anyone employed as a criminal or intelligence analyst and for judicial certification standards.

iBase User
This hands-on 5-day workshop focuses on the use of databases by students
who are involved with investigation, data entry and analysis. Using a variety
of exercises, students learn basic functions such as opening a database
and adding or modifying data. Throughout the workshop, students move back
and forth between iBase and Analyst’s Notebook® to perform analysis,
visualize data and populate databases. Students learn the tools necessary
for writing reports, querying the database, and importing and exporting
data. This hands-on 2-day workshop continues building on the skills learned
in iBase Level 1. Using a variety of exercises, students perform more advanced
queries and manipulating the iBase database. Throughout the workshop, students
become more comfortable moving between iBase and Analyst’s Notebook®
while learning additional functionality and best practices and methodologies
for using the i2 products.

iBase Designer
This hands-on 3-day workshop focuses on the concepts and functionality
required to develop iBase databases for use with other i2 products. Students
learn the basic functions for designing and creating iBase databases that
complement the end users’ usage within the suite of i2 products. The
students learn how to import/export data, create/edit code lists and design
reports. Students move between designer and user mode (iBase and Analyst’s
Notebook®) in order to check their work. Key system administration tasks,
such as setting up passwords and users, are also covered.

iBridge User & Developer
In the first day of this hands-on workshop students will learn how to
use two different iBridge configuration files. They will learn how to extract
and analyze data from two different databases using these configuration
files to find, query, expand, find common neighbours, and connecting links
in the data. They will also learn how to chart data in association and timeline
styles. In the second and third day each student will create a configuration
file that connects to an existing dataset. Here students will become familiar
with the iBrdge Developer interface and will create entities and links for
use and exploration in Analyst’s Notebook. They will also learn how
to create filters and hierarchies.
