There have been reports of Macromedia Dreamweaver MX (web design software) crashing under Windows Vista. Some computers crash when opening files, some when using the menus, and others experience random crashes. Adobe reports this is due to a conflict with Microsoft Groove, which is installed with Microsoft Office Ultimate.
The solution for now is to uninstall Microsoft Groove and Dreamweaver should be back to normal operation. Newer versions of Dreamweaver are already compatible with Vista.

For the past several
decades, the petroleum industry has relied upon surveillance cameras to help
protect and secure infrastructure like drilling rigs, pumping stations, and
sea-based platforms. Since its inception, surveillance technology has come a
long way, evolving to the point where so-called "intelligent" video
surveillance and software can now automatically detect security violations and
send out real-time alarms and alerts to security personnel when violations are
spotted.
At Trinus Technologies, we
have the know-how to integrate this video surveillance into your existing
computer network infrastructure. Monitored video surveillance is the best
intrusion detection system it basically eliminated ALL false alarms.

Austrian researchers at the Vienna University of Technology have created a computer-based CCTV surveillance system that identifies and monitors suspicious behavior by people inside banks. The system automatically alerts banks when the suspicious behavior has been identified. The CCTV system uses a mathematical algorithm to identify atypical behavior inside the bank; the researchers have determined that 95 percent of bank customers tend to stay in the same part of the bank when waiting to conduct a transaction.

University of Maryland electrical and computer engineering professor Rama Chellappa has created an artificial-intelligence-based real-time computer video monitoring system that can identify suspicious activities or individuals, which may remove some of the burden from security guards who must monitor many video screens simultaneously.
Chellappa, a pioneer in pattern recognition and computer vision software, developed a digital signature for the human gait, called "human gait DNA."
